What about ceiling height?
Because of our close association with the manufacturers, the loft stairs can be made specifically to suit your requirements up to a maximum ceiling height of 10 feet. Specially manufactured units may delay installation slightly and attract an additional charge.
Is fitting the stair unit a “big deal?”
Fitting time will vary from house to house, but an average fitting takes no more than two and a half hours.

Is my attic suitable?
We rarely come across a situation where we cannot fit stairs. The stairs are completely self-contained and do not extend above or beyond the actual trapdoor opening. There are no planning restrictions to fitting the stairs providing the opening to your loft can be extended to the appropriate length.
What are the costs of loft stairs?
Our basic price is £395 including VAT. Custom made units will attract additional costs. Due to extra time needed when working with lath and plaster ceilings there is an additional cost of just £50.
Do you call and measure first?
Yes, our site survey and quote are free. We'll also bring along some ladder samples for you to see.
How large should my loft opening be?
The standard opening size for the stairs is 56mm (22 inches) wide by 104mm (41 inches) long. Other widths and bespoke units are available. If your existing loft access is insufficient for one of our units we’ll extend an existing opening or create a new opening to suit your requirements.
