In North Leeds Mrs Acock was using precious bedroom space to make a local charity's greeting cards, but whenever her grandchildren came to stay all her detailed work had to be cleared away and stored elsewhere, leading to a fair amount of upheaval.
The perfect solution was a warm work space with room to create her cards and store her materials. Unusually Mrs Acock's house has metal trusses, with roof tiles suspended on metal rods - no problem. We built a wooden frame within the roof space to support plasterboard walls and the insulation required to create a cosy hobby area. Now decorated and carpeted, Mrs Acock can happily progress card production with no worries about unexpected guests!
Due to redundancy Mr Hanson's hopes for a costly loft conversion crashed. Urgently needing to search for work whilst sharing his study with his son, who was studying for GCSEs, space was at a premium and something had to give!
We came in with a solution for an inexpensive study area inside his roof space. Within a couple of days we had boarded the floor and insulated the roof, holding it in place by lining the space with plasterboard. Electrics were installed and plastering completed, allowing Mr Hanson to move in to his new study after just 10 days.
Feeling more than a little cosy in his small bungalow near York, Mr Lax and his two teenage children needed more space for their busy family in a small property.
We boarded the loft, installed Velux windows, insulation and plasterboard within the bungalow's roof space to create a fabulous, flexible and warm study area. Plus, cupboard doors within the side walls created easy access to the eaves offering superb storage. A great solution to this family's needs, now everyone has more room to call home.
Our stair units are easily opened in seconds, which solved Mrs Russell's problem in Harrogate. Working from home, Mrs Russell had very little storage space for her growing files but now, with our superb loft stairs neatly fitted and accessible right outside her first floor study, she enjoys easy access to all her papers stored securely in her loft.
In 2006 we fitted a stair unit and boarded a loft for Mr Gunnerson's 1920s terraced house in Northallerton. After 6 months he called and asked if we could solve the problem of the accumulation of dust and dirt now covering all his stored items.
Over the years the mortar between the slates on Mr Gunnerson's roof had deteriorated, thus allowing debris to be blown into the attic and requiring everything stored to be wrapped in plastic bags. Our low cost and speedy solution was to fit a breathable membrane roof lining to the rafters making an effective dust barrier which completely solved the problem; ensuring Mr Gunnerson's possessions stay clean and dust free.
